Some reduces the excess amount, some eliminates the excess amount, some are included in the rental and some you buy extra. CDW - Collision Damage Waiver | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
A rental car has collision damage insurance exactly like a private car. The difference is that the excess amount on a rental car is considerably higher. In certain cases, up to the full value of the vehicle. When you have signed the CDW you are only liable for the remaining excess in the event of damage to a Hertz vehicle, unless that has occurred in conjunction with theft or vandalism. | TP - Theft Protection | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Costs in the event of theft of or vandalism to a rental car are not covered by the collision damage insurance policy and will therefore be subject to a separate excess. Once you sign the TP you are only financially responsible for the remaining excess with this type of damage, the sum varies depending on the vehicle group concerned. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| SC - SuperCover | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
An optional product which eliminates the remaining excess in the event of damage to a Hertz vehicle. In order for SuperCover to apply, the general rental conditions must be adhered to. SuperCover cannot be signed by customers with company agreements or drivers under the age of 25. | PAI - Personal Accident Insurance | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
PAI is an optional product and involves a personal accident policy that applies when you are driving your Hertz vehicle and when you get out of the vehicle. It covers driver, passengers and baggage in the event of an accident. The price per 24-hour period for PAI varies depending on the vehicle group. Compensation for any damage is paid out regardless of any other extra insurance policies a person may have taken out.
