Rental Terms, Qualifications and Requirements

The following forms of payment are accepted when booking on the websites: most major credit cards, debit cards and the Hertz Charge Card (HCC).

For all “Pre-Pay Online” bookings, the person in whose name the vehicle is booked MUST be the person whose credit card is used.

The person who prepays the booking MUST be the person to whom the vehicle is rented.

Exceptions:

- Travel agent bookings where IATA number is present and the travel agent’s credit card is used to pay for the rental; 

- Third party bookings through an on-line retailer provided the booking is made in the name of the person who will pick up the vehicle and he/she is qualified accordingly;

- Corporate account bookings made with a Corporate Lodge card.

The renter MUST produce the same card when picking up the vehicle that was used for the prepaid booking for identification and security reasons. If the card originally used has expired, been lost/stolen, you must produce the replacement card from the same card issuer. The card must be in your name and the issue/expiry dates should correspond to those of the original card.

At the time of rental an authorisation is obtained on your credit card.

For “Pay at Location” rentals this will include the full cost of the rental, the damage excess amount (if Super Cover is not accepted), any additional products you may purchase plus a tank of fuel.  The cost of fuel will vary according to the make and model of the vehicle.

For “Pre-Pay Online” rentals this will include the damage excess amount (if Super Cover is not accepted), any additional products you may purchase plus a tank of fuel.

Please ensure you have sufficient funds available on your credit card to cover the authorization. We will not be responsible for any bank charges that may be incurred.

 Credit Cards & Debit Cards

Credit Cards:

Acceptable credit cards are: American Express, Canadian Pacific, Diners Club, Hertz Credit Card, Lufthansa Courtesy Card, Mastercard/Eurocard/Vector, Moevenpick and Visa/Mileage Plus First Card.

Debit Cards:

Certain bank issued Visa or MasterCard debit cards are accepted however, to collect your vehicle, you must either produce a credit card in the driver's name to support the Excess or include our Super Cover to your rental (€ 250.00/€ 500.00 limited excess will apply).

To qualify for the rental, further security checks may be required up to and including - proof of a return airline flight to coincide with the rental and present two (2) valid forms of identification to include a utility bill as proof of address to match the provided driver's licence.

Please note: A service charge of € 5.68 (including tax) for cars or € 6.15 (including tax) for commercial vans/trucks will be applicable on all payments made with non-EU issued credit/debit/charge cards.

Vouchers

Vouchers are accepted only if they cover the rental charges, otherwise they can only be used as a second form of payment. A credit card is required in conjunction with a Full Credit Vouchers including OTTO's.

In the event of traffic violations or toll charges being incurred during the rental, a charge will be processed to your credit card.
